The group for Cardiovascular Engineering (CVE) of the ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering Research does research, teaching and technology transfer.
Research activities at CVE address topics ranging from basic science to applied problems in the context of biomedical flow systems. The main clinical partners of CVE are found in the Departments of Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiology and Angiology (Inselspital, University Hospital Bern) and the Medical Faculty of the University of Bern.
CVE is committed to provide high-quality teaching within the Biomedical Engineering Master programme of the University of Bern. Excellent students contribute actively to research projects.
Technology transfer from academic research to the private sector is a core function of CVE. CVE initiates and supports translational projects which make research results available to partners from the Swiss MedTech sector.
