Rafael Morand holds a M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Bern. His previous work included research in orthopaedics. He explored novel techniques of haptic feedback in hand prosthetics and developed a wearable gait analysis tool with an industrial partner. During the master’s program he delved into digital signal processing with Kalman Filters and deep convolutional networks. He is currently a PhD student with the aim to identify biomarkers for better diagnosis and prognosis of sleep disorders with machine learning and AI.
