PhD thesis defense Lisette van Os

The ARTORG Center congratulates Lisette van Os on successfully defending her PhD thesis titled "Immune cell migration during infection in organs-on-chip” on 27 April 2023! During her research at the ARTORG Center Organs-on-Chip Technologies Lab, Lisette developed a novel inflammation-on-chip model to study immune cell extravasation and migration during inflammatory processes, such as those taking place in lung infection. Importantly, she found that the matrix protein composition and the perfusion method of immune cells define the migrational behavior of these immune cells. Her PhD thesis was carried out under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Olivier Guenat.
